Supreme Court begins clean-up: 10 HC judges shunted
The Supreme Court collegium, the highest administrative body for the nation�s
judiciary, has decided to transfer 10 sitting High Court judges as a punitive measure.
Prominent among them are two seniormost judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court
who led the first-ever strike by members of the higher judiciary.

Confirming <i>The Indian Express</i> August 2002 investigative series on largescale
irregularities in the allotment of dealerships for petrol pumps, the Supreme Court

The proposal is to take onions off the list of 16 items whose bulk movement and
storage are restricted under the Essential Commodities Act. Under the Act, prices of
onion along with its supply and trade are regulated by the government.
