PowerArchiver 2004
PowerArchiver is a comprehensive archiving utility that archives files
in a variety of formats, including ZIP, 7-Zip, CAB, TAR, TAR.GZ, and
more. PowerArchiver also reads and extracts many other file formats,
including RAR, ARJ, ARC, ACE, ZOO, GZ and BZIP2. The program includes
support for XXE and UUE encoded files, and lets you rename archives,
write comments, and check for viruses. It supports the PKZip 5.1 AES
encryption standard.
PowerArchiver features a skinnable toolbar and a drag-and-drop
interface and lets you view archives in various ways, including as Web
pages. It lets you convert archives from one format to another, repair
corrupted ZIP archives, extract multiple archives at once, and create
archives in batches. This version lets you create and use different
compression profiles.

WinRAR
WinRAR archives files and extracts them, saving its archives in RAR
format. That format can typically compress files around 10 percent
more than .zip files.
Even though the program saves its own archives in its own proprietary
format, it can handle .zip files--as well as most other popular
compression file formats (ARJ, CAB, LZH, and so on). It can handle
.zip files up to 4GB in size.
This version includes the ability to e-mail compressed archives, as
well as a new feature that unpacks your compressed files to a
temporary folder and scans them with your installed antivirus
software.
