Securely deploy and manage user accounts, passwords and login policies
across heterogeneous UNIX/Linux environments, while keeping a centralized
audit trail of all related activities. Symark PowerPassword(R), User Management
Edition provides much simpler and more secure user management than
NIS/NIS+ (and even LDAP) environments, securely deploying accounts to
"/etc/passwd", "/etc/group", and "/etc/shadow".
Once accounts are deployed, PowerPassword enforces highly secure password
policies, such as password length and composition, aging and reset, and
random passwords. Login policies enforce access control to all hosts in the
Unix/Linux network, such as who may login, to/from which host and when,
using what method (such as login, rlogin, telnet, rsh, ssh, rexec, and xdm/cde).
Symark PowerPassword(R) User Management Edition reduces support costs by
enabling a single point of management for user accounts across large UNIX/Linux
networks. Specific management privileges can be delegated to different system
administrators or even help desk staff, such as resetting passwords or unlocking
accounts.
