EMAILS AND QUESTIONS FROM NOTARIES

Dear Victoria. I did not subscribe to The Notary News to be notified of
teleconferences. I want to know how to work for mortgage companies and make money.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

RESPONSE FROM VICTORIA RING

So why haven't you attended the teleconferences? The Annie Mae Organization provides a
wide range of teleconferences for notaries who are seeking to build their notary
signing agent business. The teleconferences are an excellent way to build your
business and increase your knowledge so you can increase your income. That is why I
publish information about them in The Notary News and will continue to do so.

You need to open your mind to explore a wide range of information and follow a wide
variety of leads. Teleconferencing is a new technology. The least you could have
done was look at the subject as a unique opportunity to learn how to teleconference --
which is a tool that will become common place in the very near future.

Long-time subscribers to The Notary News are accustomed to the fact that I do
everything I can to keep them up-to-date on new products, technologies and other
information. I do not receive any compensation from Annie Mae for speaking at these
teleconferences but I give my time in order to not only help notaries become
accustomed to teleconferencing technology but to also put them in touch with others
and know they have a support system. I am very sorry that you missed this opportunity
by not exploring the teleconferencing announcements.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Victoria. I ordered the notary book on Friday, October 8 and here it is Tuesday,
October 12 and I still don't have it. Where is my book?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

RESPONSE FROM VICTORIA RING

If you recall -- Monday, October 12 was a federal holiday and all the post office's
were closed. That means when we received your order on Friday it would have been
deposited at the post office on Saturday. Because the post office was closed on
Monday, your package probably did not leave the post office here in Columbus, Ohio
until Tuesday.

Note: It is nice to know that so many people are anxious to receive their books; but
unfortunately, I cannot control the process the United States Postal Service has in
delivering mail. We ship ALL book orders the very next day after an order is received.
In other words, if you order a book on Tuesday it will be shipped on Wednesday. But
how long the Post Office takes to deliver that package to you is something I cannot
control.

Additionally, although we ship orders by 2-day priority mail, the post office does not
guarantee it will be delivered within 2 days. However, the package is treated as
priority mail and is normally faster than mailing first-class which is why we choose
to ship using this method.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Victoria. Thanks to all the great tips and techniques in How to Start, Operate
and Market a Freelance Notary Signing Agent Business I have become overwhelmed with
work. I can't keep up with all the signing assignments. Any suggestions?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

RESPONSE FROM VICTORIA RING

First of all -- congratulations! Thousands of people would love to be in the position
you are in. You are experiencing the same thing I went through when I owned The Lawyer
Assistant. The company grew so rapidly that I was unable to keep up with the workload.

But in your situation, you need to find reliable, professional notaries in your area
who can help you. Before you form any type of relationship with the notary, I strongly
urge you to have them assist you on a signing appointment. Evaluate their
professional demeanor and find out if they know their job well enough to trust them as
a back-up. Then you could pay them a fee (like 80% of the fee you are paid) and make
a small commission. After awhile, it sounds like you may be able to open up your own
signing company.

One last suggestion -- if you will email me with permission to publish your name,
phone number and email address, I will provide it to the subscribers of The Notary
News and perhaps help you link up with others in your area.

For others who have not purchased a copy of How to Start, Operate and Market a
Freelance Notary Signing Agent Business, go to http://www.50statenotary.com/book/

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Victoria. I am listed in the Nationwide Notary Directory on your website but
because you list people in alphabetical order (and my last name starts with an R); I
am listed near the bottom of the list. Is there a way to move my name up to the
beginning of the county list?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

RESPONSE FROM VICTORIA RING

The order in which your name is listed in the Nationwide Notary Directory should not
have any significant effect on the assignments you receive from companies. You should
be actively marketing on the internet on a daily basis so that your name becomes known
to other companies. The more they see your name, the bigger chance you have of getting
jobs.

It is evident that you are not getting many calls or you would not have notified me
about this issue. Therefore, you need to actively market your business. By marketing
your business I do not mean that you should spend any money. Marketing encompasses a
wide variety of methods. You cannot simply list your name in a notary directory and
sit back expecting work to come to you. How many search engines have you listed your
notary directory web page on? How many companies have you faxed your resume to? How
many companies have you passed out your business card to? How many notaries have you
networked with recently? Have you attended any of the Annie Mae teleconferences to
increase your marketing knowledge? Have you purchased How to Start, Operate and Market
a Freelance Notary Signing Agent Business?

These are only marketing methods to get you started. There are millions more but you
have to make the effort to build your own business. No directory listing anywhere can
do that for you.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION FOR THE NEXT NEWSLETTER?

I would love to publish some of the excellent questions I receive from notaries
throughout the week and answer for you here in the newsletter. However, some people
prefer not to have their email published even though their name will not be used. But
if you have a question that you provide me with permission to publish (without your
name), please email me at <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Be sure to state in the email
that I have permission to publish your question without your name or identifying
information.

SUMMARY OF TELECONFERENCE

I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming attendance at the free
teleconferences concerning the Bankruptcy Forms Processing Service. Each meeting was
originally intended for 25 people are less. However, from 75 to 100 people have been
registering for each conference. In order to accommodate this large group of people,
Gary Drury at Annie Mae has been linking several computer systems together in order to
provide everyone with the ability to attend.

However, there were still people who wanted to attend but were unable to do so because
of other personal responsibilities. Below I have provided some of the questions and
answers that were addressed at the teleconference for those of you unable to attend:

Do you need to be a paralegal to operate this type of business?

No. Drafting bankruptcy documents does not require the same level of expertise that
is required for other jobs in the paralegal arena. For example: Not everyone who
works at a hospital is a doctor or nurse. Therefore, not every job at a law firm
requires you to be a paralegal or attorney.

Is it legal for me to operate this business in my state?

You are confusing this business with one where you work directly for consumers (John Q
Public). In that case no attorney is involved and many states have laws in place that
prevent you from preparing bankruptcy petitions directly for consumers. However, the
type of business I am presenting to you enables you to work directly for attorneys.
Your name does not appear on the documents because you are assisting the attorney. The
attorney will provide final approval and sign the bankruptcy petition when it is
submitted to the court. There is no state or federal law that exists stating you
cannot work for an attorney. Besides, progressive law firms outsource a wide variety
of different assignments to independent companies. From computer services to court
reporters to process servers -- law firms have been outsourcing for many years. This
business is just another way of outsourcing your skills to bankruptcy law firms.

How to I find out how many bankruptcy petitions were filed?

Go to http://www.abiworld.org Click on "Online Resources: then select "Bankruptcy
Statistics." You can choose to view statistics by chapter, district, state or as
quarterly figures. You will see that the number of filings are growing very rapidly,
which means that you will have a growing business and steady income if you choose to
become a Bankruptcy Forms Processor.

What types of attorneys hire freelance bankruptcy forms processors?

There are two different areas of bankruptcy: creditor bankruptcy and debtor
bankruptcy. Creditor bankruptcy consists of attorneys that represent the collector
(credit card companies, etc.) Debtor bankruptcy consists of attorneys who work
directly with people who are filing bankruptcy. Most debtor bankruptcy attorneys
operate on a much tighter budget than the creditor attorneys and therefore have
smaller one-and-two attorney size law firms. These are the types of attorneys that
need services that you can be trained to provide and your service will save them money
and relieve their heavy workload. Additionally, these types of attorneys are normally
much easier to work with because they are small business owners like you are.

How much money can I charge for drafting a petition?

It will be up to you to set your prices for your own products. When I owned The
Lawyer Assistant I charged $150 for drafting a set of Chapter 7 documents and $200 for
a Chapter 13. However, I sold the business over a year ago so I believe the average
price for document preparation is higher now. The best thing to do is call a few
bankruptcy law firms in your local area and ask them how much they charge. Some will
give you a price -- others won't. Or, you can go to a search engine like Google at
http://www.google.com and type in the search words "find bankruptcy attorney" and
start going through some of the attorney websites to locate some prices.

But an even better way for you to determine the prices to charge is to turn to Page 72
in How to Start a Bankruptcy Forms Processing Service. Work through the drafting of a
bankruptcy petition (using bogus information) so you will be able to determine the
work involved and set your prices accordingly.

How are documents electronically filed with the court?

Through a national court service called PACER. You can sign up and get a free PACER
account by going to http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/ and clicking on the link: "Register
for PACER." There is no cost to sign-up. However, if you will be filing documents
electronically for attorneys they will provide you with their username and password
since attorneys are the only parties eligible for electronic filing capabilities.

To find out more about building a highly successful business as a bankruptcy forms
processor, or to get the book, How to Start a Bankruptcy Forms Processing Service, go
to http://www.bankruptcybook.net I have provided book excerpts, a complete list of
the table of contents and additional questions and answers so you can make a more
informed decision whether to get involved in this business or not. If you have any
additional questions after viewing the web page, feel free to call me at 614-491-9831.

BIBLE VERSE OF THE WEEK

Deuteronomy, Chapter 10, Verses 17-18

For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and
a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the
judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and
raiment.
