3. Opinion: Suspicious Battle Dept.
The Blu-ray disc standard continues to battle with the
HD-DVD standards in the back alleys of Asia. The final spec
for HD-DVD should appear early next year. Though the Blu-ray
group has a final standard, they are now adding to it. This
process of creating constant additional standards within
standards makes a mockery of the concept of standards.

4. Analysis: Does a SAN File System Fit the Bill?
For some companies, implementing NAS (network-attached
storage) systems has become increasingly inefficient. SAN
file systems--a relatively new storage paradigm that
dynamically allocates storage to each server on the network
based on actual need at any given time--might fit the bill.
