Tom, don't cut them - you can, but you'll be sorry. If your neck is pinched put a 2 liter soda bottle in it to stretch it out (the suit, not your neck...) The gaskets will stretch out, it just takes time, and if you trim them you run the risk of them being to loose and them ripping easier as well - keeping the factory edge is your best bet.
