Welcome to the list.  The numbers you see on alot of Airstreams are the 
owner's Wally Byam Caravan Club International membership numbers.... The WBCCI.

It's fun to be a member because you get to go to the rallies and meet other 
Airstreamers and you get discounts at campgrounds, and some Airstream parks 
only allow WBCCI members.

It's not mandatory for owning an Airstream and enjoying it though.... it 
simply enhances the experience.
