Thanks for your reply, Ira. Upon closer inspection of the Nissan and
Tohatsu specs pages, I see that the motor is available w/remote
controls, and it is also available with a 25" shaft, but it is not
available with both 25" shaft and remote controls. Obviously, a lower
unit swap would solve this problem, if you bought two motors.
Fortunately, I know a local Nissan/Tohatsu dealer, and may be able to
solve that problem.
I see on their web page that the motor won Motorboating magazine's
2004 Editor's Choice, and they now have an 8 hp version. That's all
good, but I'd really like to hear from a few people who have owned one
for a while.
