You have to subscribe to the service of your choice, DirecTV, Dish, 
Echostar are your primary choices. RV satellite antenna's are just that. 
It's like a tv antenna, it just catches the signal. It's up to you what 
you do with it. The design approach was to provide an antenna and the 
customer (you) could use his/her home satellite receiver interchangeably 
between fixed house and house with wheels.
