    Living By The Golden Rule
    John McKain
    Matthew 7:7-12

"Do for others what you would like them to do for you." Matthew 7:12

Maybe there was the waitress who could have been more polite, or the person who cut us off on the highway. We could react by not leaving a tip, or by following closely behind the car. But what does Jesus expect our reactions to be? As He taught throughout His ministry, we should respond with forgiveness.

In the sermon "Living by the Golden Rule," John McKain illustrates what is required for us to live out the Golden Rule. We must first be dependent on God, knowing that he is our Father and that He makes no mistakes. Once we understand that God is in control, we can live the Golden Rule by surrendering ourselves, allowing God's grace to help us forgive others. Read this sermon for several helpful illustrations on forgiveness and kindness.
