But once you need more than 128MB of storage, things get expensive, and once your needs pass the gigabyte level, the pickings get slim. Kanguru has a great solution with its 2.2GB USB drive that still easily fits in a pocket. Find out about big storage for small bucks. http://eletters.pcmag.com/zd1/cts?d=81-1223-16-19-22817-116135-1 ============================================================ First Looks Review--Epson Stylus C66 ink jet printer If printer output quality and price are paramount for you, you'll want to take a close look at the Epson Stylus C66 ink jet. It's not the fastest in its class, but overall quality is about the best you'll find, and the price is amazing--$70 (street). In addition, you'll save money on supplies, because the inks (three colors and black) come in separate cartridges, so you don't have to buy a new cartridge when one color runs dry. See if this inexpensive wonder can meet your needs. http://eletters.pcmag.com/zd1/cts?d=81-1223-16-19-22817-116138-1 ============================================================ Solutions: Understanding Queries and Reports Plenty of organizations take advantage of Microsoft Access because it provides a simpler, less expensive solution for dealing with large quantities of information that don't require the power of full-blown enterprise databases. But if you don't know how to get answers to specific questions, you're losing the power Access can offer. Our Solutions tutorial shows you how to get the most from Access. http://eletters.pcmag.com/zd1/cts?d=81-1223-16-19-22817-116141-1 ============================================================ Security--Flip Flops After eBay Users One of the latest threats to your systems may not currently be recognized by antivirus vendors. The Worm, W32/Myfip, comes as an attachment in an e-mail that claims you've won several eBay auctions. The virus attempts to log on to your system using a brute-force password attack and comes with an extensive dictionary of passwords. Our Security Watch Letter fills you in on this and other security threats. http://eletters.pcmag.com/zd1/cts?d=81-1223-16-19-22817-116144-1 Also: Need info about past threats? Now there's a personal scanner that makes the process a lot faster. The Xerox Documate 252 is the fastest we've tested in this class. The company claims a scanning rate of 25 pages per minute, and the rate doubles for two-sided documents, since the device can scan in duplex mode. In our testing, we got even faster results in some cases. See what we found when we tested this speedy business tool. http://eletters.pcmag.com/zd1/cts?d=81-1223-16-19-22817-116153-1 ============================================================ Review Mini-Roundup: Web Searching Goes Local Today's powerful Web-search tools have given an immeasurable boost to our efficiency. Wouldn't it be great to be able to apply that power to locally-stored information? You can. Two heavyweights--Google and Microsoft--have come out with free beta versions of local search engines based on their Web tools. Read our report. http://eletters.pcmag.com/zd1/cts?d=81-1223-16-19-22817-116156-1 ============================================================ Contest: Win the Ultimate Workbench Our daddies always told us, "the right tool for the right job."
