A Day of Destiny
—Albert Mohler
Today is a day of destiny--Election Day 2004. On this day, America's citizens participate in the grand parade of democracy--casting a vote to choose a direction for America's future.
So much is at stake in this election, beginning with the presidency of the United States. Americans will choose between President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry. We stand at a crossroads. When it comes to promoting a culture of life, preserving traditional marriage and protecting the nation against the threat of terrorism, the contrast between the candidates is stark.
Analysts in both parties agree that this is a turnout election: This means that those groups that have strong voter turnout will determine today's results.
Voting is the first and foremost responsibility of our citizenship--and this is not an election where we can afford not to exercise our hard-won right to vote.
So, please, tell your friends and family, and get out and vote.
