Good Housekeeping's Site of the Day

Michelangelo Buonarroti
http://www.michelangelo.com/buonarroti.html

Michelangelo Buonarroti's great masterpiece, 'from Creation to Last Judgment,' was unveiled on All Saints Day in the year 1541.  November 1, All Saints Day, is an appropriate time to feature Michelangelo, "one of the greatest artists of all time, a man whose name has become synonymous with the word 'masterpiece.'"  The site is divided into his 'Early Years,' 'Mid Years,' and then 'Final Days,' the period when Michelangelo completed his 'Last Judgment.'  Highlighted text gives the visitor access to close-ups of some of his most famous masterpieces and allows one to see, first-hand, the talent of this fascinating artist, sculptor and fresco painter.  Come see what a unique legacy Michelangelo has left for the celebration of All Saints Day!

The milk shake machine at the fast-food restaurant I manage was broken, so I had an assistant post a sign to that effect on the drive-through speaker. A short time later, a customer pulled up to the speaker. "May I take your order?" I asked.  Crash, boom, bang! came the response. I asked the customer to pull around. "Were you pounding on the speaker?" I asked the driver. "Yes, I was," she admitted. "Why would you do that?" "Because the sign on the speaker said 'Shake Machine Broken.' "
