Spectre of inflation back after 5 weeks
After a gap of five weeks, the spectre of rising inflation has come to haunt the new
government again. The annual inflation rate on a point-to-point basis increased to
7.38% for the week-ended October 23 from 7.1% in the previous week. It was only 5.13%
a year ago.

MoF clears PFC plan to take over mid-size bank
PFC proposal to take over a bank has found favour with the finance ministry. With the
decks now cleared by the finance ministry, the power ministry is expected to take up
