Welcome to today's edition of Inside PCMag.com.
Now that the U.S. presidential election is done and we're all
finished counting votes from the largest turnout in the nation's
history, we were wondering what you folks who used electronic
voting devices thought of the experience. Was it better than
the old punch-card or other analog system you're used to? Tell
us about your e-voting experiences in the forum.

Review: A Terrific Little Personal Media Player

Microsoft Portable Media Centers are not the only game in
town for on-the-go television, movies, and music. Archo's new
Gmini 400 does not run Microsoft OS software, but it does a
good job with all the aforementioned media and is remarkable
easy to use. Now if only that screen could be a little bit
bigger. We have more details and photos in our full review.

Security Watch: Too Many Google Results

Is Google Desktop, the new desktop file-indexing and searching
tool from the Web-search giant, going too far and accessing
encrypted files? It looks that way. We talk about the implications
in the latest Security Watch. We also look at the fast moving
and dangerous Bagle.BC virus.

Plus: Words or alphanumeric codes for passwords are passe. You
can now use phrases like "I love cottage cheese, but not lowfat
or with fruit" as memorable passwords. We tell you why and show
you how.

Review Roundup: Portable GPS--Stop Getting Lost

People who say they have an excellent sense of direction are
usually lying or seriously deluded. Ignore them and get yourself
one of these nifty portable global positioning devices. Not all
are created equal, but one of them is certainly good enough for
you to start ignoring those lost folks and start getting to
where you want to go on your own. Read all our review and find
yourself.

Product News: SpamNet Becomes SafetyBar 4.0 and Goes Anti-Phishing

The new battleground in online privacy and protection is
phishing--or anti-phishing, to be more precise. Companies
that were focused primarily on catching spam are now expanding
their scope to encompass phish e-mails. Cloudmark's effective
spam-blocking app, SpamNet, is following this soon-to-be-familiar
pattern. The company has renamed it SafetyBar and added e-mail
fraud protection. We have a preview of this apparently
impressive product.

Review: An Entry-Level Image Editor

For every person who loves PaintShop Pro and its myriad
image-editing controls, there are a dozen users who just want
a handful of simple tools for making their digital photos look
better. Now Corel (the company that bought Jasc) has introduced
PaintShop Pro Studio. It's affordable and keeps the tools--and,
apparently the confusion--to a bare minimum. We have the full
review and a visual tour of the interface.

Review Roundup: Intel Bumps up P4 Extreme Edition

Why is it always the gamers that have all the fun? We get
run-of-the-mill Pentium 4s in our PCs, but gamers can look
forward to Extreme Edition--and now Intel has edged up the
speed on these hot CPUs to a zippy 3.466 GHz. Considering that
the speed was 3.4 GHz before, this does not seem like much of
a change, but apparently the CPUs and systems from Velocity
and Falcon that feature them have quite a bit more going on.
We have the full reviews and benchmark-test results.

Dvorak: A Google-Microsoft War

Columnist John C. Dvorak take a look at all the components in
the sure-to-be-upcoming war between Microsoft and Google, and
handicaps each company's moves for victory in the fields of
search engines, browsers, and freemail.
