Well I don't think that anybody else has send a few thouthent C++ source files thru Get_Line. As you might know: The main part of AdaCL is a text filter framework. Mainly used for C++ source-file refactoring. When it comes to string handling and Text_IO I have seen it all - event he most esoteric bugs. I used the AdaCL text filters for more the a month before I noticed the first file which did not have a last line any more. The bug is indeed very sparce - bit it did happen in actual use. The .adt files from ASIS are all in a single folder. Thank you. This is an excellent description. the only (fault) that I can see is that it requires a copy operation (Y: aliased D := X). I wonder, do you think that: Y: aliased D; for Y'Address use X'Address; is a viable alternative (please note, I did not say GOOD alternative). In this simple case, a copy serves no harm, other than some time. But if the data is large the cost will certainly grow, perhaps to being unacceptable. Another (but unattractive) alternative might be: type S1 is String(1..1);... - Tues, Nov 9 2004 8:47 am 2 messages, 2 authors http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.lang.ada/browse_thread/thread/29c1212970bb6877 Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) Ada Algorithm - all new ---------------------------------- ... And so I do. Well, you've (and others) given several point of thought. Quickly, let me address some: I learned: 1. There are no absolutes in software. 2. Look at the issues before you solve the problem. In this light there are some notes. Issue: The CPU is of limited capability in an embedded, critical real-time environment. It is very important to conserve space and save speed. The tendered solution seems to solve the issue without compromising system integrity. Programmer optimization is often not required, and... - Tues, Nov 9 2004 9:16 am 1 message, 1 author http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.lang.ada/browse_thread/thread/4246083efae0e43b A source code search engine - 3 new ---------------------------------- http://www.koders.com/ is an interresting search engine for free licensed code. Initially I found a set of thick bindings to do this on the Internet, but I found a number of limitations, and have been working to enhance it. One issue that still remains though. I have the following functions: type Byte_Array is array ( Positive range <>) of Byte; procedure Get(Handle : in Handle_Type; Item : out Byte; Done : out Boolean); procedure Put(Handle : Handle_Type; Item : in Byte_ Array); (hmmm... ideally the Get function should read in a Byte_Array, but... - Tues, Nov 9 2004 6:41 pm 4 messages, 3 authors http://groups-beta.google.com/group/comp.lang.ada/browse_thread/thread/47957cb8c33729e5 examples of MSXML in Ada? - all new ---------------------------------- It should be easy enough to convert from C#/C++ examples on the net (it may be some time before I can put together a more comprehensive example).
