BOAT SPEEDS: Charter boat captains have had their say. So have environmental 
advocates and bayfront residents. Now it's the Florida Fish and Wildlife 
Conservation Commission's turn. 
 
ATVs: A little more than a week ago, the state started forcing recreational ATV 
riders in Southern Golden Gate Estates to carry a permit. A ranger gives them 
paperwork and hands them a map. The shaded area is where they're allowed to 
ride. It's 22,000 acres of the Southern Golden Gate Estates. 
 
NO KETTLES AT TARGET: Last season and the one before, Lynn Blakeley rang a bell 
for the Salvation Army nearly every day of the Christmas season in front of the 
Target off Airport-Pulling Road in Naples. Although he doesn't know how much 
time he will be able to spend this year ringing his bell when the kettles come 
out on Nov. 19, Blakeley does know one thing � it won't be in front of the 
Target. 
 
FESTIVAL: The five-day St. Elizabeth Seton Festival in Golden Gate, which 
organizers say rivals the Collier County Fair in popularity, drew a crowd of 
more than 50,000 people and earned the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School a 
record amount of money for school programs.

SHOOTOUT: Hank Kuehne and Jeff Sluman did it without the drama this time. The 
two became just the second team in 16 years to defend the Franklin Templeton 
Shootout title, winning by two strokes over Justin Leonard and Steve Flesch at 
Tiburon Golf Club on Sunday. Kuehne and Sluman won in a three-way playoff last
