Today's Macintosh Tip: Nixing the Empty Trash Confirm When you select Empty Trash from the Special menu, you get a dialog asking Are you sure you want to permanently remove these items? and giving you the option to cancel. Some people get so used to hitting the return key to confirm every time they go to empty the Trash that if they ever should have hit cancel at all it was probably too late. If you don't mind living just a little dangerously, and you're annoyed by having to repeat yourself to a machine, you can turn this confirmation dialog off, by doing the following: Select the Trash (single click). >From the File menu, select Get Info Uncheck the Warn before emptying checkbox. 2.
