Turn it UP!

It's amazing how differently we each work. Maybe it's rude
of me, but I've always snooped over my coworkers' shoulders
to see how they organize their e-mail folders, or to gape in
amazement at the number of icons on their desktops. (How
could you WORK that way? I couldn't find anything.)

One major way in which we seem to differ is aural: what we
listen to while we work. Despite a rather large music
library and eclectic tastes (anybody here a Christine Lavin
fan?), when I'm working I want silence. If I *do* play
music, it fades into the background or it distracts me.

How about you? I've made it our latest poll: What do you
listen to while you're programming? Do you prefer loud,
bouncy music, or a crooning vocalist?
