Tax Filing Season
Tax Talk Today, a monthly Webcast aimed at educating tax and payroll professionals on contemporary tax
issues, has announced the topic of its December Webcast: �Get Ready for Filing Season 2005: Part One �
Individuals.� The Webcast, scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004 from 2�3 p.m. EST.
�Our experts from the IRS and the private-sector will discuss the most significant changes that tax
practitioners need to be aware of in order to serve their clients,� said IRS Area Director Ellen Murphy.

Talk Today. For those questions not addressed on the program, answers will be posted on the Tax Talk Web site.

- HUD and IRS Launch Joint Effort to Help Families
The Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Internal Revenue Service have announced that they
will join forces to help low-income taxpayers receive free tax assistance and learn about important tax
benefits. The new partnership will help low-income people with such things as free tax return
preparation, the Earned Income Tax Credit and the child tax credit. See: News Release 2004-145.
