Assuming that Ye Grete Hole of Cowley is stopt upp in time, I shall be
crewing on Earnest's trip to Barking Creek next weekend. Neil's
current plan is to return up the Thames on the Sunday to Brentford.
This presents me with a challenge as I have a singing commitment at
Southwark Cathedral later that day. Where can a man wearing a suit
and clean shoes, carrying a gown, hood and music folder (and possibly,
God forbid, an umbrella), conveniently and legally jump ship from a
narrowboat? Any better suggestions than the floating pontoon outside
Limehouse Lock?
