to visit our Northern office (in Trafford Park) which involved stopping
overnight on Monday. I finally left about 15:30 with a Northampton IWA
meeting to go to in Blisworth at 20:00. In the end I had a reasonable run
back, and reached the pub at twenty past seven )didn;t go home on the way).
Several of us were there, but couldn't remember who the speaker was! Even
the website said TBA (and I didn't think it was a talk on the Thames, Berks
and Andover).
To be honest it was only when the speaker arrived I remembered who it was -
our "own" Steve Haywood!
I will say it was an excellent talk. Steve doesn't need dodgy photos or
anything to be entertaining - it's just him (and a music stand for his
script). I don't necessarily agree with everything he said (although most of
it was sheer common sense) but it was definitely thought provoking, and of
course entertaining!
He did try and sell me a book - but I wondered what he expected me to do
with two copies!
If you get the chance, and haven't already done so, do go and lsiten to
Steve - I'm sure you'll enjoy the experience.
