Anyone who has been paying attention to my posts will be aware that recently my trusty Di Blasi has become not so trusty. Having a moped that refuses to start makes the car shuffling, required as part of Jannock's weekending activities, very difficult when we only have one car and one driver.
Having checked all things to do with carburetion that I thought I could possibly check, I decided that it was a very weak spark at the plug which was causing my misery, but I had no diagnostic information to try and determine which electrical part was faulty. To cut a long story short, the UK Importers (Concept Edge) sought help from the manufacturer about my troubles. The Di Blasi factory in Italy disagreed with my diagnosis and sent their recommendation to Concept Edge who then sent me the seal and bush, which the factory thought was faulty, by 1st class post. They also offered to allow me to visit them in Hillingdon to try out replacing the various ignition parts, one by one, if the seal did not cure the problem.
The Di Blasi, she is mended now. It was the carburettor bush that had a hairline crack in it. So much for my engineering prowess :o(
To conclude, I would like to recommend Concept Edge for the 'Old Fashioned' service I have been given as part of their support for this superb little machine. It was a pleasure to be dealt with in such a professional manner.
Watch out - the menace is back on the road again ;^)
