> Post 23:00 was a veritable Aladdin's Cave during the week for the discerning viewer---does anyone remember Anthony Burton's "Voyage Between Two Seas" where he entered the inland waterways from the Humber Estuary, into the Aire & Calder etc. eventually to the Irish Sea @ Liverpool?
Broadcast history
09 May 1983 18:51-19:20 (BBC 1)
12 Sep 1983 14:00-14:29 (BBC 1)
01 Apr 1984 23:49-00:18 (BBC 2)
18 Apr 1986 19:59-20:28 (BBC 2)
Some fairly good slots there, but I guess these days it would be
hidden in the late night schedules. I think it was part of regional
broadcasting, and probably not broadcast across Britain. BTW they
started in Liverpool, and ended up in the Humber.
> Another gem was "Living on water" a couple that bought a dutch barge in Holland, through the Netherlands system, across the channel, Thames estuary, Grand Union to Uxbridge for a new [raised] ceiling back to below Tower Bridge for a short-term mooring. Thence to St Petersburg in Russia----fascinating stuff----& on @ 04:20 'coz a soap had taken all the daytime slots! Thank God for video!
Never saw that one - lets hope for a repeat.
