We got to the same point, just beyond the end of the council yard
piling. We also reversed up the little side arm a little. There was no
sign of a dam, it just went under the bridge and on, but it was very
shallow and full of tree debris (no pictures of these unfortunately,
so can't show you).
We only went under the road bridge near B&Q on the Nene, I didn't know
how far you can get, but I didn't realise it was as far as that. The
problem is reversing a 60 foot boat all that way back - with an SR3
and a mechanical box it's slow going.
