Just to report that we have made it across the Severn.

Uncle Mort left Sharpness at 18:30 Fri and the crossing took 25mins.
There were 100's of folk at Lydney pierhead welcoming 3 ancient pilot
cutters, nb Jasper, little cruiser Marie 2, another larger cruiser
taking up a mooring in Lydney and ourselves. Two other big cruisers
locked down from S with us and zoomed off down the estuary. They will
be in the Sargrasso Sea by now.

The SARA (Severn Area Rescue Assoc) safety boat swooshed up and down
giving us some feeling of security. Uncle Mort chugged resolutely
making good progress through the water. Unfortunately most of the water
we were chugging through seemed intent on spending the evening in
Gloucester, so we did not travel along a line any self respecting crow
would have flown.

Mrs Beeky is still with me.

The return journey is scheduled for about 19:30 Sat evening. Should be
fairly quiet as all the local Paraguayans will be watching the
football. Although there is a coaster expected on the same tide.

More news tomorrow, possibly.

Beeky
