To be honest when we went through Standedge on the way to the rally at Huddersfield I lost count of the times that I measured and remeasured Kyme. I'm sure that I even measured it in my sleep! I have to say though all the worry was worth it in the end. Sure there are problems, I know that they will improve, but it really is a fabulous canal to cruise. Steve

When my girlfriend took her boat through last year it was a considerable worry to her as she knew that her boat was slightly higher at the front than many boats (We failed to get through Froghall tunnel a couple of months previously). Knowing that there was a possibility that she might be refused entry put a real downer on the first part of the holiday. As it turns out the height was not a problem but the BW man stated that the boat was borderline on width - and this being a modern boat which we assumed was only six ten wide!
