Hi Folks,

I'm finally admitting defeat! I have become distracted with other projects
and no longer am devoting the time needed to maintain the Waterways Guides
site adequately.

I need help to keep the site up to date. Currently, there are a yearsworth
of updates on the submission page and other e-mails have been sent to me
directly.

Obviously, a number of approaches are possible.

#1 - I give up and let the site die.

#2 - Someone with the skills required comes forward that can build the
required tools to automate the site.

#3 - I move the host so that others can share the tasks of manually keeping
the site up to date.

#4 - Other possible solutions.

I am loathe to do #1. I am not convinced that building in greater
automation to the site will overcome all of the problems I have maintaining
it. I fancy solution #3. (I don't want to lose control completely, as I may
find the time to become more actively involved again at some point in the
future.) However, I am willing to listen to other proposals, if you have
them.

If you think you could help, and don't propose a radical commercialisation
of the site, do let me know. Direct replies off-list/group are welcome.
Mail addressed to "future at waterwaysguides.co.uk" (with the obvious
substitution and spacing) should avoid my spam traps.
