I believe 80 boats / boaters were told to leave Barton Turn Marina within the
last two years. A friend was told to leave a long term mooring at Napton when a
house owner queried their residential status. Most boaters living on the canals
are living semi illegally, hence the lack of security.
Beware of boaters that tell you that "you can moor here and get no hastle" . BW
say that if you have no mooring you have to move around the country in a
progresive journey. If you want to fight this all well & good but it is a load
of hastle.
