It will be interesting for Guy to try them out and see if there are as [EMAIL 
PROTECTED] 
as they were on our last couple of visits. ISTR that even the Holly Bush (up 
the hill and once a nice little pub) now seems to have been turned into a 
motel. I would go for an early passage down the lift and go north this time. 
Very peaceful moorings just above Vale Royal Locks, we have got away mooring 
in the entrance to the caput small lock. It is recommended  (by the BW 
staff) NOT to moor at the Red Lion at Winsford Bridge. If you want an early 
start the next day moor in Northwich, is seemed to be quieter above the 
bridge.
Be VERY wary of Winsford Flash with the lack of rain it is probably even 
shallower than when we last ploughed through. Once in the main part of the 
flash the deeper water is to the west.
Get Connie on the bow with the shaft testing the depth!  :-)
