Taking this thread off track a bit can any one tell me how to size an anchor for use on this type of trip i.e. inland tidal waterways. If you look up any of the tables they make the assumption that you want to ride out a force 7 gale and the beam of the boat is around a third of the length.
Both these assumptions do not apply I certainly don't intend to go out in a force seven gale and the beam of the boat is around a sixth of the length. The deployment and recovery of a 33lb anchor with 26 ft of half inch chain from the back of a narrowboat also seems a little problematic. Anyone any ideas what size I need for a 60ft boat?
