One variant I came across for the first time a few weeks ago is where
you can buy a book of day tickets and use them as you need them. Clearly
they are only useful if your boat is moored on a private section of
water, such as the boat club where my Mum keeps her boat, and you only
use it a few days a year. I think the tickets come in a book of 30, but
I may be wrong on this. The users only pays for the days that the boat
leaves the arm and goes onto BW water. Apparently some of the older
members who just go out on the occasional weekend have really gone for this.
