Earlier this year we spotted that there was ONLY red paint on the marker at Belgrave Lock. Closer inspection showed that the gauge seems to have been painted red all the way, then overpainted with orange on the lower half, then overpainted with green on the lower half of the orange. Passing boats had simply worn away the green and orange layers, leaving a useless red board to confuse people. Some of the gauges further down the river had been similarly affected. -- Allan Jones - N/B 'Keeping Up' http://www.keeping-up.co.uk ------------------------ Yahoo!
