By no less an organ than the Daily Telegraph (now you know which paper this
boater reads) today – snips:-

A down at heel and niffy part of London will bear the name of Prescott
forever. BW yesterday announced a £15m lock and flood control structure on
the R Lea , which will be essential to the Olympics, it will be called
Prescott sluices. It’s close to where a storm outfall for the East End
sewers enters the river and has been called Prescott channel since the
1930s. Officials …..revealed by their grins yesterday that the structure
will always be associated with their former boss. (Snips) there will be a
more important function of preventing raw sewage reaching the Olympic Park.
Mark Bensted, BW London director, said ‘This is the most important waterway
restoration project in the country’. And of course it will perpetuate the
name of Prescott.

Seems to me there’s more than one topic for discussion here!!!!

John
