This was in the Spoldersluis on the Zwolle Ijsselkanal (connects up Zwolle with the River Ijssel) . The lock was 140m long there was not much room for the 20m barge I was on. When the barge left he checked we were still tied on, then floored it. A couple of minutes later the barge started to creep out. It was refreshing to boat in Holland, hundreds of pleasure boats and big boys all boating in harmony.
