Semington to Bradford was still about 4" down on Friday but shouldn't
be a problem.

Below the lock, isn't it? IIRC the tap there runs so slowly that you
could do a halfway decent fit-out while filling the tank.

They're the permit holders' moorings - the VMs are above the lock.

Once down the hill you should find good slots at:
Foxhangers - for about half a mile below the lock - but no wood/rings;
Sells Green - proper VMs but also popular - as is the 3 Magpies;
Semington - VMs below the lock - much quieter since the road over the
bridge was bypassed;
Bradford-on-Avon - opposite the marina; short walk to The Beehive at
Bridge 170;
Bradford-on-Avon - above and below the lock;
All the way from John Meadows Bridge [173] to Avoncliff, trusting
that the wind doesn't betray the adjacent sewage works. The VMs
beyond the aqueduct are useless though - some sort of underwater
obstruction;
Dundas around the basin west of the aqueduct and beyond the
footbridge [Br 178] for quite a distance;
Just before Claverton Bridge [180];
Bathampton - several places from just before the swing bridge to just
beyond the George [which can be noisy];
Bath - about 400 yards worth before the first little tunnel - the
railway is close but so far below the canal that train noise is muffled;
Bath -about 200 yards worth [inc water point] above the Top Lock;
Bath - just below Pulteney Weir [charged for] - turn upstream on
exiting Bath Bottom Lock;
Bath - just below the station near the multi-storey car park [free].
Very few places between there and Bristol - good luck with that.
