Day 18 - Tuesday 11th July 2006

I saw a boat coming along the straight, so I set off, only to meet another
two boats coming the other way on one of the few blind corners on that
section. They had spent the night on the sanitary station near the locks.

We were first at the locks, and so first up, and were back at the junction
by 12:30. We had a good run down the lockless stretch, and decided to visit
the Prees Arm. We caught upto another slow coach of a boat/boater just
before the junction. Loads of opportunities to let us pass (as it's wide and
deep on that section), but I just stayed behind as I was turning off soon.
Just before the junction (about 500 yards), he let me by (on the wrong
side), and then pulled into the bank to moor up once I'd passed. Some
people!

We had tea at the end of the Prees arm, and then set off for Whitchurch at
19:15, so Julie could get the train back to Stoke for her car. A clear run
meant we reached the arm at 21:30, just as the sun was setting.
