Or why not firewall your local PC and open the wireless ADSL link to the 
neighbourhood. In a few years the country will most likely be covered by 
wi-fi or its successor anyway.

I spend quite a bit of time in Ireland and free wireless access over 
there is taking off in a big way because the cabled phone system is too 
poor to support ADSL. Many towns have wi-fi WANs set up by the local 
community in this way.
