Sorry Graham, you're wrong. There are no moorings on the port side heading 
downstream & on the starboard side there are a proliferation of notices that 
state "TO MOOR HERE, PHONE 079** ******.  There is room just by the bridge for 
patrons of the two nearby pubs, that's all.   On a previous trip I even 
mentioned to the lockkeeper about these notices going up 'coz I actually saw 
some of the last ones being hammered into the ground. The lockie bemoaned the 
fact that "Soon there'll be nowhere free to moor at all!"
