There are (or were) some free visitor moorings not too far above Sonning
lock. There are some signs saying it's a VM and that fishing is prohibited.
We were walking our dog along there once and I realised I hadn't seen the VM
signs. On the way back I looked out for them and found that some thuggish
looking people were fishing on the VM and had hung their coats on the VM/no
fishing signs.
