Day 26 - Wednesday 19th July 2006

We had all the time in the world today, as we were only going down to
Branston, just as well on one of the hottest July days in nearly 100 years.
We filled with fuel at Barton Turns marina, and enjoyed the great aircon in
the shop. We got an icecream, and went back to the boat, where we found
another boat tying along side. It's a pity they just didn't moor in one of
the other bays till we moved. We pulled out backwards, and then had to turn
around, before turning back onto the canal, by this time my ice cream was
melting very well, spilling some down my front.

We arrived at Branston with plenty of time to kill, and spent most of it
watching TV. I also went for a little bike ride to see if I could easily get
closer, but after reaching the causeway at Burton I thought I'd better turn
around while I could still feel my backside.

I was all set up with my camera at 23:00 for the felling, and waited, and
waited. A few bangs happened, some fireworks were going off, and a
helicopter flew around, but still nothing. I waited until midnight, but
still nothing.
