Today I was up and put by 6:15 (Mr Millin would be proud of me) and took the
trusty Di Blasi back to Aldermaston wharf. I then moved the car to Radcot
before returning to Sandford again. As I arrived back, nb Minniegaga
(Blackberry spilll-chucker spelling) was coming up through the lock. We
followed them up to Oxford where they stopped to go shopping whilst we
continued across a cold windy Port Meadow. Ended the day on the FREE field
moorings above Aynsham lock (Mr Millin would be proud of me). We took a walk
into Aynsham and visited the CO-OP for essential supplies. Also noted that
there is an Indian restaurant there and a deli that does take home hot meals.
Beef in red wine is Tuesdays offering. On the prolonged walk in, I had to keep
dragging Brenda out of the hedgerow as she was in 'wild fruit picking' mode. I
got my own back later because she had to drag me out of the pub on our return
journey. Whilst walking across the toll bridge, we looked over into the river
and were surprised to see a crayfish that must have been almost lobster size.
Later in the afternoon a phonecall from Cap'n Beeky informed us that Albion is
moored for the night immediately below the lock and we have just had a social
visit from Roger and Margaret.
