Good point indeed.

Yes, once.

Someone travelling on the barge sustained a nasty injury after
ignoring the skipper's instructions, which were given in good time,
and repeated thrice and forcefully from a distance of about three
metres.  

Michael agreed we ought to fight it, but the insurer apparently felt
that, since the injured party was a single mother of two who had had
cancer, there was not a chance that an obviously well-to-do person (I
mean - he owns a barge!  <choke>) could win in court.  So the insurer
paid up, and I lost some no-claims bonus for a couple of years.  I
understand the operation on the injured woman was a success, btw.  

The fact that a lockkeeper bore false witness didn't help either.

I have no complaints about this, if some slight feelings of injustice.
And a somewhat more jaundiced view of the world.

I consider my insurance protected me acceptably.
