We didn't have TOO many problems with traffic on our way from Napton to
Newbold this week - one advantage of this area is that the only locks
are the duplicates at Hillmorton. One of the two problems we encountered
was a man who stole a turn through the turnover bridge before Braunston
Turn. He did thank us for waiting! I think the volume of smoke rolling
towards him (we had a following wind) was persuasive. The boat behind
waited for us and said 'He should have let you through'. I said 'I think
he realised that after I fended him off with the icebreaker'. They
laughed.
