As a recent arrival in Yorkshire I've been told that Barnoldswick is
pronounced Barlick (bit like a sheep's 'baa' and lick).
While we're on the subject of pronunciation I'd like to promote the correct
pronunciation of Eynsham (on the Thames). It's pronounced Ensham not Aynsham
(the y is silent).
