We had been with CraftINsure for several years and was impressed with
the promptness that they paid up on a £600 claim we made when our prop
caught something hard coming out of a lock and bent it and the prop-shaft.
However, when the time came to renew they virtually doubled the premium
so we decided to move elsewhere. By accident we found that Saga offered
very good comprehensive coverage for around £275 (60 foot boat) despite
the fact that we had made a claim through CraftInsure.
I must say that as pleased as I was with CraftInsure I think their
decision to up the premium by so much was an error. Had they kept it at
a reasonable level we would still be with them and they would have
covered the claim in a couple of years; the approach they took lost them
our business.
Just goes to show that it pays to shop around for new quotes on a
regular basis.
Cheers..
