Don't wind me up! I have spent a weekend with wet feet. On Friday we walked to the second-closest pub to home and I got wet feet. On Saturday we moved the boat to Sharpness and walked to Berkeley (what a shame the Gloucester and Berkeley canal wasn't finished to the original design). It was raining on the walk there and I got wet feet. Had a good night of drinking, and watched a girl-fight between the local young ladies in the pub. Booked a taxi for 2200 which left with the wife and no 1 son while I was making a speech of farewell for most my staff who are leaving for better paid jobs. When I left the pub at 0100 am this morning, it was p'ing with rain. The footpath was starting to look navigable. It is a good hour's walk from Berkeley to Sharpness and I got wet feet again. It rained all night. This morning we got up and it was raining and hailing. The domestic water pump on Boden stopped working - it just got hot until the circuit breaker tripped. Went to get a pan of water from the nearby water point with which to do the washing-up and flush the bog and got wet. After much flashing and banging, the rain stopped so we set off back. It started raining, heavily, and I got wet. The skin on my feet appears to belong to someone bigger than me. Disgruntled are we on the G&SC.
