It looks like the eastern end of the T&M from Fradley to Sawley is
going to be unavigable because of the sheer quantity of novice crews
in CanalTime and Shakespere boats.
We came that way last week and the cut was brought to a virtual
standstill. Hugh queues in both directions at every lock as the
idiots blundered thier way through. Or what you think is a queue is
just 3 of them mooring on those nice handy bollards or by that nice
post with a tap on it or just opposite that picturesque but where the
canal gets wide.
We had one crew ( of 6)who took over 30 minutes per lock Raising one
paddle one click at a time. another prat took 5 attempts to get the
boat into the lock and no it wasnt windy. Then there were the
oncoming lot that closed the lock gates in our face as they left.
I think the meassage about not speeding has got through many now spend
all of the trip at tickover.
Ok one can handle a few idoit novices but when real boaters are
outnumbered 10 :1 then the whole system grinds to a halt.
