Next morning, the sun was out as we ascended the Hillmorton three en route
to Braunston.

One of the bottom locks at Hillmorton is closed at present so there was a
bit of a queue here.

I daresay the question has been raised before, but can anyone please put my
mind at rest? While we were waiting to go through the remaining bottom lock
at Hillmorton last week. I noticed the bottom locks are numbered 2 and 3. In
fact the six locks are numbered 2 to 7. What happened to lock number 1?
