Those of you who are reading this on u.r.w. will remember discussion some
days ago suggesting we needed a web site to collate information about what's
going on in the campaign against the DEFRA-imposed cuts to BW & EA budgets.
You may also remember that somebody nominated me to set it up, and that I
agreed.

Well it's now in existence, thanks to some midnight oil from me and a lot of
help and encouragement from others. The URL is
http://www.savethewaterways.org.uk/

I hope I'm now going to be kept busy chronicling the development of the
campaign. I'll try to keep the site as up-to-date as I can. My idea is that
the site will be a compendium of information about what's going on, a
resource for the campaigners and an encouragement.

Any relevant news you have about planned events, or reports of events that
have happened, interesting Press articles or position statements by
organisations should come to me at either <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
or my usual e-mail address.

Anyone with their own personal or group website is urged to put a link to
the new site in as prominent a position as possible.

Tell all your friends.
